Walter Hueske

November 1, 1931 — September 23, 2020

Walter James Hueske, 88, died Wednesday September 23rd 2020 at his home in Gay Hill, TX. He leaves his wife of 67 years, Iva Jane (Blayney) Hueske; his son, Michael Hueske and his lady Celia Zapata; his Grandchildren Maxwell James Hueske and Madelyn Paige Hueske; his brother Floyd Hueske and his wife Patsy Hueske; his sister Joyce Lewis; his sister Maurice Woods; his sister Walline “Butch” Wood and his brother Edward Hueske and his wife Linda Hueske; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews.

Born and raised in Gay Hill, the son of Walter Henry and Clara (Thieleman) Hueske, he was a resident of Houston, Sugar Land and Gay Hill Texas for most of his life. In his early years, Walter would help with the farm chores for the family's agricultural endeavors. After graduating from Somerville High School in 1950, he joined the U.S. Air Force, where he was honorably discharged with the rank of Staff Sergeant after four years of service to his country. Afterwards he attended the University of Houston, graduating in 1958 with a degree Electrical Engineering.

He met his wife, Iva Jane Blayney, riding horses in the country and they were married in 1953 at Riverside Baptist Church in Houston, TX. Walter then had the opportunity to join the United Gas Company in Houston, TX, and from there he went on to form Chill-Co. Air Conditioning company in 1969, where he worked until he retired in 2002.

Walter had a passion for tinkering and repairing and was always staying busy with one repair or home improvement project. He was always the man who would help out his friends or neighbors with their needs, but seldom if ever would take the same in return. He was a man of few words but when he did speak it was with a sincere conviction.

A Memorial service will be held on October 17th, 2020 at 2 PM at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Gay Hill TX. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, please send donations to: St Peters Lutheran Church 8201 Old Gay Hill Road, Brenham, TX 77833 Attn: Peggy Reimer.”
