Travis Vlasek

Travis Frankie Vlasek, 83, passed away at home on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 in Brenham, TX. He was born October 5, 1937 to Frank and Isabell Vlasek in Gonzales, TX. Travis was baptized on October 31, 1937 at St. James Church in Gonzales, TX.

On June 1, 1957, he married “the girl next door”, Catherine Hintzel in Houston, TX at St. Theresa’s Church.

Travis started at a young age doing landscape work with his father. He eventually went out on is own with his brother, Forest Vlasek, where they managed up to thirty yards a week in the River Oaks area. He still managed two yards as of last week.

Travis also enjoyed hunting, Nascar, tinkering in the garage and anything involving his grandkids.

Travis had a love for baseball where he never missed a game from his sons to his grandsons.

Survivors include his wife, Catherine Vlasek of Brenham, TX, his son Steven and Becky Vlasek of Missouri City, TX, daughter-in-law Patsy Vlasek of Hemphill, TX, three grandchildren; Bonny Harrison of Burton, TX, Tyler Vlasek and fiancé Emily Keithley of Midland, TX and Travis Vlasek of Missouri City, TX, one great-granddaughter Brooke David of Burton, TX, one sister Peggy and Arlie Oetken of Cypress, TX, three brothers; Donald and Judith Vlasek of City-by-the Sea, TX, Ray and Victoria Vlasek of Irving, TX and Chester and Linda Vlasek of Clear Lake, TX, as well as many other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his grandparents, brother Forest Vlasek and son Randy Vlasek.

A time of gathering will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2021 from 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel Funeral Home in Brenham, TX with the family present from 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

At this time there will be no memorial service. His wishes were to be cremated and we will spread his ashes at different baseball fields across Texas.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Shriners Hospital for Children at donate.lovetotherescue.org.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 West Main Street, Brenham, TX 77833.
