Raymond Kettler

Raymond Kettler, 89, passed away in the comfort of his own home on Friday, November 5, 2021.

The visitation will be from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Monday, November 8, 2021 at Memorial Oaks Chapel. The service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, William Penn officiated by Pastor Mark Moldenhauer. The burial will follow at Bethlehem Cemetery.

Raymond was born on November 12, 1931 to Henry Kettler Jr.  and Erna Thane Kettler. He was baptized December 6, 1931 and confirmed on April 14, 1946 by Reverend CJ Appel at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, William Penn. He married his beloved wife Pauline Voskamp Kettler on December 13, 1958.

He was a lifelong member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, William Penn, a lifelong dairy farmer, conservationist, a man of faith, and served in the U.S. Army in the years 1955 through 1956. Raymond loved life on his farm and being with his family. Family was very important to him.

Raymond is survived by his wife, Pauline Kettler; sons and daughters-in-law, Douglas and Theresa Kettler, and Clinton and Diane Kettler; daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and Mark Matson; sister, Lorine Kettler Schroeder; grandchildren, Matthew and Ashley Kettler, Heidi and Dustin Nowicki, Henry Kettler, Ruth Anne Kettler, Daniel Matson, and Thomas Matson; great-grandchildren, Caleb, Lyla, Amelia Rose, Elijah, Lily, and Theodore Kettler; Hannah, Taylor, and Dillon Nowicki; sisters-in-law, Lynnette Voskamp and Dixie Voskamp; brother-in-law and wife, L.P. and Cynthia Voskamp; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Erna Thane Kettler father-in-law and mother-in-law, L.P. Sr. and Ruth Knoblock Voskamp; brothers and sisters-in-law, Edwin and Leona Kettler, Herbert and Alvina Kettler, Wilbert and Odell Kettler; sisters and brothers-in-law, Laura and Irvin Ashorn, Erna and Lawrence Lueckemeyer; brothers-in-law, Nolan Schroeder and Richard Voskamp; sister-in-law, Kathryn Voskamp.

Pallbearers are Matthew Kettler, Caleb Kettler, Dustin Nowicki, Henry Kettler, Daniel Matson, Thomas Matson, Robert Kettler and Michael Schroeder. Honorary pallbearers are grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Bethlehem Lutheran Church, William Penn.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main St., Brenham, TX 77833.
