Paul Pipes

October 1, 1928 — January 25, 2023

Brenham, TX

Paul Ray Pipes, one of a kind! He was born October 1, 1928 to David and Maggie Cale Brown Pipes in Truscott, Texas, Knox County. There were 8 children in his family. They are: Ben David, Billy, Paul, survived by Emma Lea, Ada, Peggy, Robert, and Tommy. He had many chores around the homeplace in the country, always dependable and busy.  After High School he joined the Army and was sent to Korea to fight and defend his Country. Being a good shot, country bred, he was sent right to the front lines; Bloody Ridge and Heartbreak Ridge. He always thanked God for letting him live through the daily battles there and asked Him to let him live to be an old man.

He was Dyslexic and very smart, so college was next when he came home. He attained a Master’s Degree in Business from Sam Houston College in Huntsville, TX. and went on to work for Pan American Petroleum Corporation, which was later bought out by British Petroleum.  Sent to their Thibodaux, Louisiana office, he found a Methodist Church home to support, joined the Church choir, taught Sunday School and fell in love with Linda Mullins who sang along with him and whose little brother, Doug Mullins, now in Huntsville, TX, was a student in his Sunday School Class. Paul and Linda married in that little Church, December 17, 1961 and moved to Brenham, TX where their two daughters were born.

Dana grew up and married Brian Sweeney, had two children, Paul Edward and Grace Catherine, living in Newnan, Georgia. Tricia grew up and married Chris Bingham, had two daughters, Isabella Rose and Clara Morgan Bingham, living in San Antonio, Texas.

His story went on finding him changing career choices from oil company accountant to school teacher, Brenham High Business Department. He loved God and family first, but teaching was a special joy for him. He loved High School and the Brenham kids he felt privileged to teach.

Paul was so proud of his Brenham home, family and friends but God called him to his Heavenly Home Wednesday morning January 25, 2023, at 1:58 AM with Linda holding him as he peacefully passed on to his promised forever home to wait for her there. Having been married for 60 plus years, sounds like a long time, but Linda selfishly wanted more. Blessings and love forever, my love.
