Obituary

Lillie Behnke, 92, of Brenham, died Oct. 18, 2002 in Trinity Care Center in Brenham. Mrs. Behnke was born Dec. 12, 1909, in Washington County, Texas, to Henry Sr. and Ida Neumann Wellmann. She was baptized March 27, 1910 in Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wiedeville by Pastor Theo. G. Papsdorf and was confirmed April 13, 1924 in the same church by Pastor Aug. Dziewas. She attended Wiedeville School. On Oct. 17, 1953, she married Bill Behnke in Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wiedeville. She is survived by her brothers and sisters-in-law, Harry and Lenora Wellmann of Brenham, Raymond and Carrie Mae Wellmann of Brenham, Robert and Selma Wellmann of Brenham and Ernest and Erline Wellmann of Brenham; sister, Lonie Addicks of Brenham; and sister-in-law, Serena Behnke of College Station. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Behnke; her parents; four brothers; and one sister. The funeral service was held today at 10:00 a.m. in Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wiedeville with Pastor Virgil Pecht officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Billy Wellmann, Delvin Wellmann, Wilburn Addicks, Donald Ray Wellmann, Raymond Wellmann Jr., Vernon Wellmann, David Wellmann and Wade Wellmann. Memorials may be given to Immanuel Lutheran Church Building Fund of Wiedeville. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main, in Brenham.
