July 15, 1929 — March 15, 2022

Brenham, TX

Lee Dell was born July 15, 1929 to Willie Boehnemann and Mattie (Weinert) Boehnemann in Burton, Texas. She was baptized on September 8, 1929 by Pastor Carl Ziehe in Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Greenvine. She was confirmed in the same church on December 5, 1943 by Pastor Roy Grote. Lee Dell attended Burton schools. On June 24, 1951 she was united in marriage to Clarence Otto Krause in Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Greenvine by Pastor A, B. Weiss. She and Clarence engaged in farming near Burton until 1979 when they moved to Brenham. After that Lee Dell worked for a number of years at Blue Bell Creameries. She loved to play cards, go dancing with Clarence, help residents play bingo at the nursing homes and volunteer at the hospital. Watching the Houston Astros play ball was another favorite pasttime of hers.

She was a faithful member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Burton where she was also active in the Ladies Circle #2. She was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxillary and the VFW Post Ladies Auxillary. Lee Dell loved to watch things grow and always planted a vegetable garden and canned its bountiful harvests. Her flowers were her pride and joy.  Lee Dell delighted in making her famous peanut brittle and giving to friends and family at Christmas.

She was a woman of strong faith and great optimism. She endured many medical problems and unfortunate circumstances but she lived by her motto of "it is what it is". She was always cheerful and accepted whatever life dealt her by keeping her positive attitude.

Lee Dell was preceded in death by her husband Clarence Krause in 2004, her parents, her brother Lee Roy Boehnemann, sisters Thelma Juries, Rutha May Schultz, and infant brothers Carrol and William Boehnemann. She is survived by nieces, nephews, special neighbors Mike and Peggy Mick, and numerous friends.
