Lauriano Pineda

October 9, 1959 — February 15, 2021

Round Top, TX

Lauriano Pineda, age 61, of Round Top, Texas, passed away on February 15, 2021.

Lauriano Pineda, also known to some as Larry and others as ‘El Chivo,’ was born in Turitzio, Michoacán, Mexico, on October 19, 1959 to Ramon Pineda and Paula Ramirez.

As a young man, Lauriano ventured through Mexico and the United States where he worked the fields and his love of plants grew. He settled in Round Top, Texas in 1988, shortly after marrying Celia (Cortez) Pineda in Houston, Texas. They welcomed four wonderful children into this world Vanessa, Dana, Lauriano Jr., and Christian. He enjoyed raising them at the beloved Windy Hill Farm. Later, he continued his passion of nurturing plants and trees and purchased a property in Walhalla where he poured his soul into improving and perfecting the land. He always had a garden much too large, but he insisted it was for anyone who needed it; it was for everyone.

Lauriano will always be remembered for his voluminous laugh and contagious smile — You could always find Lauriano on his tractor working, sharing stories with his friends, or riding to Ledbetter to feed his fish with Celia and his little companion, Snooki the pug.

Lauriano is survived by his loving wife Celia Pineda, daughters Vanessa and Dana Pineda and sons Lauriano Jr. and Christian Pineda, his sisters Ninfa Meza, María del Refugio Pineda, and Joyce Pineda, and brothers Jorge Pineda, Ramon Pineda, and Roberto Pineda. He will be greatly missed by many more family members and friends who loved him dearly.

Visitation will be from 12:00 am until 7:00 pm on Sunday, and visitation with the family will be from 4:00 to 7:00pm. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 pm on Monday, February 22, 2021, at Memorial Oaks Chapel in Brenham. Graveside services will follow at Florida Chapel Cemetery in Round Top.
