Kenneth Middleton

Kenneth William Middleton, 78, died peacefully on July 21, 2021 in Houston, TX.

He was born on December 6, 1942 to Neva Turner Artall and Kenneth Middleton in Pasadena, TX.  Kenneth passed away peacefully at Hospice Facility after a courageous battle with lung cancer.

Kenneth was married to Stephanie Springer Middleton on October 7, 1967.  He worked at Harold in the Heights Men Clothing Store as a model for several years.  After leaving modeling, he became employed with the State of TX and Cannonball Freight Company.  Kenneth was a member of the National Guard and was always willing to serve as needed.

Kenneth served as a longtime volunteer for 42 years to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and served as Chairman of the BBQ Committee from 1982-1984 and worked with Calf Scramble and Grand Entry Committees to name a few. One of his major accomplishments was being elected to the Board of Directors in 1988 and later becoming a Lifetime Director of the HLS&R.  Kenneth was well liked and had many close friends and acquaintances because of his great sense of humor.

Kenneth treasured spending time with Stephanie, his family and driving to the country.   Photography and reading were his favorite hobbies.

Kenneth is preceded in death by his spouse, Stephanie Middleton; his mother Neva Artall; father Kenneth Middleton; his step-sister Marjorie Ryan Tampke; and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Gertrude and Victor Bilski, Mary and Rufus Cone, Theresa and Brosie Kimich, Clara and Frank Cone, Monica and Chester Lucherk and Martina Springer.

Survivors include sister-in-law and brother-in-law Dorothy and Roy Matthews and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.  A special thanks to caregivers David and Meg Cone.

A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at Memorial Oaks Chapel prior to the service.

A funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at Memorial Oaks Chapel with burial following at St. Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery.
