Justiniano "Tina" Iwig, 70, of Brenham, TX, died Thursday, January 13, 2022.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at Memorial Oaks
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at Chappell Hill United
Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Phillipsburg Beckendorf United Methodist Cemetery.
Tina was born on September 5, 1951 in Taylor, TX to Faustino and Isabel Nunes. On December 15,
1979 she married Keith Iwig in Giddings, TX. She worked in the accounting department of Texas Parks
and Wildlife before working for a short time at the then new Walmart in Brenham. She then began a
lifetime career with the mentally disabled working first at the Brenham State School in the supply
department and direct care and then for Brazos Valley MHMR in direct care and as a case manager.
While at Brazos Valley MHMR she began a Christmas Angels program to ensure that each client in
Brenham would have a present on Christmas Day, a program she continued to spearhead until her
She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Keith Iwig of Brenham; TX, her mother, Isabel Nunes of
Giddings, TX; bother and sister-in-law, Angel Nunes and Sheila of Giddings, TX; brother, Adam Nunes
of Bellville, TX; sister and brother-in-law, Annie and Genaro Del Toro of Giddings, TX; nieces and
nephews, Debbie Gonzalez, Crystal Luna, Erica Nunes, Eric Del Toro, Sarah Gonzalez, Marcus Del
Toro, Christina Nunes, Rebecca Nunes, Lance Nunes, and numerous cousins and other relatives.
She is preceded in death by her father, Faustino Nunes; sister, Janice Nunes; father-in-law, Chester
Iwig; and mother-in-law, Dorothy Iwig.
Pallbearers are Eric Del Toro, Marcus Del Toro, Tre Luna, Barry Bennett, Larry Buske, John
Durrenberger, Jim Locke, and Tom Yates.
