Jose Ruiz

August 28, 1952 — October 28, 2021

Jose Ruiz, 69, of Queretaro, Mexico, passed unexpectedly, on the evening of October 28, 2021 after a month-long battle with Covid. He was born on August 28, 1952, to Lorenzo and Romana and was the fifth of 13 brothers and sisters. He was preceded in death by his wife, Maria Socorro Ruiz, and is survived by his daughters Rosie Dean, Linda Ruiz, Blanca Crowder, and Jacqueline Kelling, 14 grandkids, and 3 great-grand kids. He was a loving, gentle, joyful man who loved his family, singing, and who could see the humor in anything.

He met and married Socorro Ruiz, in 1975 and they had four daughters. He made the journey to the Houston area alone in 1984 in search of a better life for his family. He worked hard and he was soon able to have them join him in 1985 and had called Alvin, Texas home since. He along with Maria raised four strong, beautiful women who brought immense pride and fulfillment to their lives. He was a man whose life brought him the hardships of a humble life which only made him more determined to provide for his family and give them the life they deserved. His patience instilled a sense of calm, his caring nature taught the value of putting others before oneself, and his humor brought joy to any situation. He will be unconditionally missed by his daughters, grandkids, great grandkids and the countless friends, neighbors and people whose lives he made easier by providing them guidance and countless favors as they too made a life for their families. But mostly by his family who will forever be grateful for the silly father and grandfather who has left countless memories full of jokes, anecdotes, and limericks that brought immeasurable joy and laughter to those he loved most.
