Johnnie Wessinger

Johnnie P. Wessinger, 77, died Saturday June 12, 2021 in Washington County in the comfort of his own home surrounded by friends and family.

Visitation with the family will be held at Memorial Oaks Chapel in Brenham from 5-7p.m. on Thursday, June 17,2021.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm., Friday June 18, 2021 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Brenham, with a Rosary held beforehand at 12:30 pm.

Johnnie was born in Brenham, TX on October 24, 1943 to Stella and Johnnie Wessinger Sr.

He was a Brenham High School graduate, afterward he worked for Schubert Sheet Metal and eventually went to work for Cook Sheet Metal. After Mr. and Mrs. Cook retired, Johnnie and a partner purchased the business themselves and operated it until they retired. Softball was one of his favorite activities and he played Fast Pitch softball in the St. Mary’s church league. Johnnie also enjoyed dove hunting, and was known for loving the outdoors more than being inside. He will be truly missed by his children and family.

Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Beth and Rodney Conklin, Jaime and Victor Kuykendoll; son and daughter-in-law Rusty and Karen Wessinger; son and special friend John Wessinger and Lori Wagner; grand-children Joanna, Jennifer, Tyler, Rusty Jr., Nicole, Kaci, Kayla and Makena; great grand-children Karson and Kynsie.

Johnnie was preceded in death by his parents; brother Larry Wessinger; son Jeffery Wessinger and daughter-in-law Linda Wessinger.
