John Michael Fielding

John Michael “Mike” Fielding, 79 of Brenham died Wednesday, March 8, 2023.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 11, 2023 at Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 West Main St., Brenham with Pastor Darrin Holub, Officiant.

Mike was born February 28, 1944 in Dallas to Winston & Virginia Fielding.

Mike was an outgoing, genuine man who loved his family, friends, and Dr.Pepper. He never met a stranger and could talk to anyone for hours.  He had a deep love for animals, especially his two dogs, Cookie and Gus, and his granddogs.  Mike was a die-hard Texas Tech Red Raiders fan. Throughout the year he would provide endless updates about Texas Tech football. Some of his hobbies included fishing, baking, and making daily trips to HEB. He was “famously” known for his phenomenal peanut brittle. He loved to wind down the day watching old westerns.  He could quote every line from Lonesome Dove. 

Surviving relatives include his daughters and sons-in-law: Kam & Cody Stelter of Brenham, Amber & Travis Graham of Liberty Hill; grandchildren: Ian Stelter, Ella Stelter, and Jake Graham; his nieces: Mary Mansfield, Linda Smith, and Robin Farrow, and numerous other relatives.

Mike is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Jeane.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be given to Brenham Animal Services, 1804 Longwood Drive, Brenham, TX 77833.
