Grady Kissel

Grady Edmund Kissel, age 60, loved husband, brother, father, grandparent and friend died on June 25, 2021.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church on Wednesday June 30 with Pastor Mark Moldenhauer officiating, with the burial following in the church cemetery. The family encourages all to wear their favorite fishing shirts in honor of Grady. The visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday June 29 at Memorial Oaks Chapel.

Grady was born on May 3, 1961 in Denver, Colorado to Glenn Kendall Kissel and Dolores Martha Shulze Kissel. He married his beloved wife Julie Anne Blackshear Kissel on July 10, 2010. Grady valued his many longtime friendships, enjoyed family holidays and shopping and eating out with Julie. He was a member of the BHS Golf team for four years, played golf at Temple Junior College, supported many charity golf tournaments and enjoyed many play dates with his friends and family. He was a member of the New Wehdem Shooting Club and deck hand for guide service at Lake Somerville. Grady loved crappie and bass fishing, camping, BBQ cook-offs, UT baseball and fishing trips to Matagorda with his friends and family.

He was most proud of being called Popo and loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Grady is survived by his wife Julie, daughter and son-in-law Lindsay Kettler Rosenbaum and Brian Rosenbaum; sister and brother-in-law Glenda and Ronnie “Hot Shot” Neutzler; grandchildren Maegan, Colt and Danica Rosenbaum; Deb Kissel, Asa and Meghan Farquahar and family in Omaha, NE; and also survived by numerous relatives.

He is preceded in death by his father and mother; in-laws Robert and Josephine Blackshear and Lloyd and Dort Kissel.

Pallbearers will be Wayne Eppler, Russell Evans, Ron Lanier, Kimball Moos, Tony Morrison, Ronnie Neutzler, Brian Rosenbaum and Terry Rudloff. Honorary pallbearers include John Brower, Terry Oberpriller, Harry Faterkowski and the New Wehdem Shooting Club.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Brenham Anglers, 805 Happy Hollow Road, Brenham, TX 77833, Bethlehem Lutheran Church, William Penn and Hospice of Brazos Valley.
