Gertrude Schuerer

Gertrude Schuerer, 94, of Brenham, TX, died on October 20, 2021 in Bryan, TX.

A visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 25, 2021 at Eben-Ezer Lutheran Church of Berlin.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 25, 2021 at Eben-Ezer Lutheran Church of Berlin with Pastor Ken Weiss officiating. Burial will follow at Prairie Lea Cemetery.

Gertrude was born on September 24, 1927 to William and Sophie (Mazurkiewicz) Bilski. She attended St. Mary’s Catholic Church School up until the 8th grade. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. On December 10, 1949, she married Charles Schuerer at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church by Pastor Theo Streng.

She worked as a homemaker and she also babysat children. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, and fishing. She was a member of Eben-Ezer Lutheran Church.

Gertrude is survived by her sister, Genevie Stegent of Spring, TX; numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Schuerer; infant son, Daniel; parents, William and Sophie Bilski; brothers, Nick Bilski, Rev. Harry Bilski, and Edmund Bilski; sisters, Barbara Twardowski, Theresa Jozwiak, and Laura Grocholski; and infant sister, Tekla Bilski.

Pallbearers will be nephews and great-nephews.
