Charlie Ehrlund

Charlie Ehrlund, 85, of Houston, TX, died on December 30, 2020.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 5, 2020 at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Burial will follow at Prairie Lea Cemetery.

A visitation will be held from 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m., Monday, January 4, 2020 at Memorial Oaks Chapel with the family present from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

Charlie was born at home in Crosby, TX on November 4, 1935. He attended local schools. After graduating from high school, he joined the Marine Corps. Following his service in the marines, he went to Lee College and after graduating from there he graduated from Stephen F. Austin in Nacogdoches. Charlie enjoyed his motorcycle and took many trips. He was a member of Christian Motorcycle Association. He enjoyed traveling and going to antique shows. He was a past president and member of Lone Star Korean Veterans Organization. He was also a past president and member of Brazos Valley Semper Fi Society.

Charlie was a member of the Baptist Church. He was a member of Memorial Drive Baptist Church for fifty years and for the last two years was a member of Spring Woods Baptist Church. He enjoyed working as a building inspector.

Charlie is survived by his wife of fifty-six years, Ruby Rodeck Ehrlund; daughter, Kimberly Ann Ehrlund; son, Mark Rodeck Ehrlund and wife Amy; grandchildren, Cody Houston Ehrlund and Casey Elaine McFall and husband Corey; sister-in-law, Mildred Weige, Niece Myrna Loesch and husband Russell, Niece, Donna Weige, Niece Lorna Summerfield and husband Jimmie, numerous Havard and Erlund cousins.

Charlie was preceded in death by grandparents, Adolph and Othelia Ehrlund; and parents Herman and Johnnie Ehrlund.

Pallbearers are Cody Ehrlund, Corey McFall, Mason Appel, Troy Burleigh, Mike Sims, and Alton Mutzbauer.

Memorials may be directed to Brazos Valley Semper Fi Society.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 West Main Street, Brenham, TX 77833.
