Adolph Wehmeyer

Adolph Charles Wehmeyer, Jr., 81, the husband of Dorothy Jean Schmidt Wehmeyer of Brenham, TX. passed away March 22, 2021 in College Station, TX.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 24, 2021 from 7:00 a.m.- 7:00 p.m., with the family present from 6 -7 p.m. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, March 25, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Salem Lutheran Church Cemetery with Pastor John Sutton officiating.

Adolph was born June 1, 1939 to Adolph and Lillian Grimm Wehmeyer in Brenham, TX.  He was baptized and confirmed at Salem Lutheran Church. Proudly serving in the United States Army from 1962 to 1964, Adolph was stationed in Germany. On May 1, 1971, he married Dorothy Jean Schmidt at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Industry, TX.

Adolph loved to travel with his family and enjoyed many trips across the United States including Hawaii. Adolph enjoyed the great outdoors. Working with his cattle, several farms and custom hay baling allowed him access to the public he so loved.  He treasured his close friends, and enjoyed having breakfast with them as often as possible. Prior to Adolph doing full time ranching, he was employed with Bluebonnet Electric. He was a lifelong member at Salem Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Dorothy Jean Wehmeyer; daughter, Debbie Lynn Wehmeyer; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Eddie and Jomaye Schmidt; nieces Blair Schmidt, and Brenna Hinze and husband Brad. Adolph was blessed with many special aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

The family wishes to thank Lori Parker, special caretaker.

He is preceded in death by his parents, mother-in-law and father-in-law, Erwin and Tillie Schmidt and numerous aunts and uncles.

Pallbearers are Bret Sander, Gary Gaskamp, Vincent Henson, Irwin Sander, Lori Parker, and Eddie Schmidt. Honorary Pallbearers are Rhonda Wehmeyer and John Kenjura.

If desired, donations may be made to Salem Lutheran Church, 1500 Salem Rd., Brenham, TX 77833.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 West Main Street, Brenham, TX.,77833.
