Willie Mae Hugo, 87, passed away August 8, 2018 in Conroe.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m., Sunday, August 12, 2018 at Memorial Oaks Chapel, with Pastor Ben Schone officiating. Burial will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery.

Visitation will be prior to the service, beginning at 1 p.m. Sunday at Memorial Oaks Chapel.

Willie Mae Hugo was born June 21, 1931 in Washington County, Texas to Paul and Annie Kiesewetter Ganske. On May 28, 1950 she married Garrett Hugo. Willie Mae operated a day care center for many years, offering loving care to many children in the community. Family was very important to her, as was the friendship of her neighbors, who would come to her home and sit in her garage, waiting for the mail as they visited. Tending to her flower garden was a favorite pastime. Willie Mae was a former member of Zion Lutheran Church.

Survivors include her daughter: Carolyn Kay and husband Douglas; brother, Henry Ganske and wife Laverne; sister-in-law Cathy Ganske; grandchildren: Cherie Mazurowski; Michelle Karp and husband Steven; great-grandchildren: Mason Karp and Jenna Karp. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Mrs. Hugo was preceded in death by her husband, Garrett Hugo; her parents, and her brother, Elroy Ganske.
