Wayne LaMoyne Miller, Sr. 88, passed away at Brenham Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on July 26, 2025.
Wayne was born June 25, 1937 to Marion and Helen (Tanner) Miller in West Terre Haute, Indiana. He had 4 brothers and 10 sisters. After completing High School, he joined the U.S. Army and served as a Sergeant.
On July 3, 1958, he married the love of his life, Janet E. Rose, and they were together until she passed away January 13, 2014. During their life together, they enjoyed raising their children.
Wayne was a faithful member of the Columbus Church of God.
His career consisted of serving his community as a firefighter and later working as a long-haul truck driver. He also enjoyed supporting his community by working on Brenham Citizens on Patrol.
Wayne is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law: Wayne L. Miller, Jr. (Lana), Steven L. Fulton (Gloria) and Thomas E. Miller (Catherine). He is also survived by his sisters and one brother: Ladella Bonczek, Darla Wren, Ercelle McEwen, Vicky Zernik and Douglas Miller; his grandchildren: Louis Broussard, Kelly Giadrosich, Brittany Spicer, Hayden Miller, and Allison Lange; and 19 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife and brothers/sisters: Robert, Emory, Clarence, Roberta Sanford Todd, Sherrine Phillips, Jeanette Bronson, Wilmetta Burroughs, Starling Harrell and Cheryle Nosek.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 1, 2025 at the Memorial Oaks Chapel with Pastor Pat Dietrich officiating. Visitation with family will be prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. until start of the service. Burial will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery.
