Vencil Jim Broz, 88, of Bleiblerville, the husband of Bessie Broz, died February 21, 2004, in the Bellville hospital. Mr. Broz was born August 25, 1915 in Bleiblerville, Texas to Henry and Mary Broz. He was baptized in Industry Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and was confirmed in Sealy Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the medical branch of the U. S. Army. On July 20, 1943 he married Bessie Pilcik in Industry Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. They were married for over sixty years. They had one daughter, and he was so proud of his one and only child Dorothy who served as Mayor of Brenham and now Washington County Judge. Mr. Broz and his wife farmed and ranched for over 60 years. For over thirty years he was in maintenance of the Industry Catholic Church. He was also a member of Knights of Columbus, Eucharistic minister for six years, committeeman on church council in Industry, KJT member, American Legion member of Shelby Post, Farm Bureau member, Bleiblerville Fire Department, SPJST member of Nelsonville and Bleiblerville lodges and a blood donor for years. Mr. Broz is survived by his wife Bessie Broz, daughter and son-in-law, Washington County Judge Dorothy Morgan and husband Emmett Morgan of Brenham, TX.; brother and sister-in-law Frank and Gladys Broz of LaGrange, TX.; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Eddie and Alice Pilcik; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Evelyn and Gilbert Goeke; sister-in-law, Tillie Balke; grandchildren, Kevin and Kelly Flisowski of Bleiblerville, TX; Christy and Cal Goode of Jacksonville, Fl.; step grandchildren, Lori Morgan and Jason Morgan of Houston, TX.; great grandchildren, Karleigh Flisowski of Bleiblerville, TX., Madison Goode of Jacksonville, Fl.; and numerous nieces and nephews and great loving neighbors. He was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Mary Broz; brother Henry Broz; sister-in-law Esther Broz; brother-in-law Charles Balke; sister and brother-in-law Mary and Ed Rayner; and an infant brother and sister. The funeral service for Vencil Jim Broz will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in Industry Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father Tim Bucek, celebrant. Burial will follow in Industry Immaculate Conception Catholic Church Cemetery, Pallbearers will be Kevin Flisowski, Charles Balke, Jr., Raymond Broz, Frank Surovik, John Craig, Jimmy Dietrich, Alvinlee Flentge and Tim Hajdik. Honorary pallbearers will be all nephews of Jim and Bessie Broz. The family will receive family and friends Sunday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. in Memorial Oaks Chapel. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Monday at Zaskoda Chapel in Industry. Family will be present from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with the rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Zaskoda Chapel in Industry. Memorials may be given to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Bleiblerville Fire Department and Hospice Brazos Valley. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 West Main St., in Brenham.
