Tomasa Pina De Chavez, a beacon of joy and strength departed this life on January 13, 2026. She is preceded in death by her husband Macario Meza and son Arturo Meza, leaving behind a legacy of love.
Born in Rio Verde, Mexico in 1931, to Estafana Diaz and Teodulo Pina. Tomasa (Tommy) Immigrated to America in the 1970's, building a life rich with family, laughter and amazing Mexican cooking (famous for her homemade tamales). She was known for her vibrant spirit, generous heart and unwavering catholic faith. A mother of six, instilling in them passion for hard work and the American dream.
Tomasa is survived by five of her children; Jose Luis Pina and wife Virginia Aguillera, Miguel Angel Pina and wife Isabel Rivera Pina, Luz Elena Gandera and husband Jose Gandara, Connie Meza and ex son-in-law Martin Jasso and Maria Pfeffer. Thirteen grandchildren: Tommie Stewart, Rene Jasso, Ryan Jasso, Nicholas Pfeffer, Enrique Rivera, Ruvid McClarnon, Angel Rivera, Elena Rivera, Estefania Ebanks, Miguel Arturo Pina, Angelica Pina, Monica Pina and Jose Carlos Pina, and 16 great-grandchildren who adored their "Bita". "Mom know that we will be ok, go and enjoy your life in heaven until we meet again."
A visitation for Tomasa will be held on Thursday, January 15, 2026 from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm with a rosary being recited at 6:30 pm at Memorial Oaks Chapel located at 1306 West Main Street, Brenham Texas. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, January 16, 2026 at 10:00 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church located at 701 Church Street, Brenham, Texas with burial to follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Brenham, Texas.
