Terry Roemer

January 16, 1958 — August 31, 2025

Terry Roy Roemer, 67 of Burton passed away August 31, 2025.

He was born January 16, 1958 in Brenham, Texas to Milton and Mamie Pietsch Roemer. He was baptized on March 9, 1958 and confirmed on April 15, 1973 at Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Carmine. On October 2, 1976 he married Jacquelynn Ray and together they had three children.

Terry had a true love for the outdoors. Whether he was out hunting, running trotlines in deep water, or casting a line, he thrived in nature and rarely sat still. He was a man of many talents, always ready to help out and never one to cut corners - if Terry was on the job, you could count on it being done right.

In his early years, Terry delivered oil and gas to farmers and ranchers across the area. He didn't just drop off fuel in their 55-gallon drums with hand pumps, he made sure their tractors were topped off (and probably checked the oil) before heading out, always going the extra mile. His children learned to love "The Country Store" when riding in the gas truck during the summer, because that was the only station he picked up. Quick-witted and full of charm, Terry was known for his fast talking and sharp sense of humor. He loved making people laugh and had a knack for clever comebacks that kept everyone on their toes. He brought energy to every gathering, and as a host, he was unmatched - no one ever left hungry when Terry was around.

Survivors include his children: Kyle and Karen Roemer of Carmine, Kurt Roemer and Monica Reynolds of Carmine, and Hannah and Robbie Yanowski of Brenham; brother and sister-in-law: Rickey and Rhonda Roemer; grandchildren: Reagan Roemer, Matthew Roemer, Briar Yanowski, Piper Yanowski; nephew: Justin Roemer; uncle and aunt: Clarence and Linda Roemer; aunt: Shirley Pietsch and numerous cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Milton and Mamie Roemer; grandparents: Herbert Roemer, Sr. and Alma Mueller, Paul and Irene Pietsch; uncle and aunt: Herbert Roemer, Jr., and Gladys Roemer and uncle: Sonny Pietsch.

Visitation with the family will be from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday, September 6, 2025 at Memorial Oaks Chapel.
