Stella Wessinger

Stella Wessinger, 99, of Burton, died Nov. 6, 2019, in Brenham.

A Rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Brenham. The funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, with Msgr. Benedict Zientek, celebrant. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Brenham.

Stella was born March 28, 1920, in the Wesley community, to Steve and Stella (Felchak) Konieczny. She received her education in Wesley School.

On Feb. 27, 1943, she was married to Johnnie Wessinger in Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Bellville, by Father A.J. Crann. Stella was a stay-at-home mom, who loved cooking, gardening and canning. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and a Gold Star Mother.

Survivors include her son, Johnnie Wessinger Jr.; grandchildren, Beth and Rodney Conklin, Jaime and Victor Kuykendoll, Rusty and Carin Wessinger and John Wessinger; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews and nieces.

Stella was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Johnnie Wessinger Sr.; son, Lance Cpl. Larry A. Wessinger; grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Jeffery and Linda Wessinger; five sisters; two brothers; five brothers-in-law; one sister-in-law; five nephews; and one niece.
