Shirley Ann Schwarze, 95, went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 19, 2026. Shirley was born on April 25, 1930, in Houston, Texas to Emanuel and Clara (Schroeder) Weiss.
Shirley was baptized in Houston, Texas on June 1, 1930. She was confirmed at Christ Evangelical Church in Houston, Texas on April 2, 1944. She attended schools in Houston but graduated from Brenham High School in 1949. Shirley married Willie A. Schwarze on February 26, 1950, at Salem Lutheran Church and they spent many years together. They had one son, William Bradley Schwarze. Shirley spent her days at home enjoying being a housewife and taking care of her husband and son. She enjoyed cooking, baking and gardening but the all-time family favorites were her cream puffs that she made on Lesia's birthday every year and her pickles.
Shirley was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Willie Schwarze, her parents, her brother; Donald (Norma) Weiss and sister; Peggy ("Doc") Klingle, brothers-in-law; Calvin Schwarze, Edward Schwarze and Louis Schwarze Jr., sisters-in-law; Ruth (Gilbert) Rodenbeck, Helen (Alfred) Rodenbeck, Bernice Bates and Rita Schwarze. Left to cherish Shirley's memory are her son Brad Schwarze and his wife Lesia, sisters-in-law; Maxine Schwarze, Vondale Schwarze and Verlin Grimm, brothers-in-law, Leroy Schwarze and Lonnie (Joyce) Schwarze, and many dear nieces, nephews and friends.
A visitation for Shirley will be held on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, from 10:00 am to 10:30 am at Salem Lutheran Church located at 1500 Salem Road, Brenham, Texas. The funeral service will begin at 10:30 am with Dr. Craig Dohse officiating. Burial will follow at Prairie Lea Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers will be Shirley's nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made to Salem Lutheran Church in Shirley's honor.
