Shirley Schultz

Shirley Ann (Kalkhake) Schultz, 74, of Brenham, died Dec. 8, 2020, at her residence.

Visitation will be held from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 12 at Memorial Oaks Chapel.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 19 at Christ Lutheran Church with Pastor Mark Groves officiating. A private burial will be held at Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham.

Shirley was born to Herman and Ora Nell (Sulzmann) Kalkhake on Sept. 2, 1946, in Shelby, TX. She attended West End School in Industry and graduated from Bellville High School in 1965. Shirley was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Shelby.

On Nov. 30, 1968, she was married to Raymond Steve Schultz at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Shelby.

Shirley worked for many years at Service Novelty Company and at Double M Vending until her retirement. Shirley loved her Lord, her family, caring for animals, gardening and cooking, especially making homemade mashed potatoes and macaroni and cheese for her grandchildren.

Survivors include her sons, Shane M. Schultz and wife Kimberly of Houston and Shawn M. Schultz of Baytown; grandchildren, Kasi Alexis, Sydney Alise, Avery Alexa and Aiden Ray Schultz; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Betty Randermann, Carolyn and James Grimm, Mary and Wallace Johnson and Ronnie and Kathy Schultz; several cousins and aunts; a very special friend, Wallene Ludwig; and her cats
Calico and Nicholas.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond; parents; grandparents; and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Raymond and Odell Schultz.

Memorials can be made to Christ Lutheran Church; Brazos Valley Hospice, 302 E. Blue Bell Rd., Brenham, TX 77833; any animal rescue or shelter; or the charity of your choice.
