Santos Benitez

Santos P. Benitez, 38, of Brenham, died at his residence on August 9, 2004. Mr. Benitez was well-known throughout the Brazos Valley as a restauranteur, owning and operating restaurants in Brenham, Caldwell, Somerville, and Rockdale. Santos was born in La Union, El Salvador on January 14, 1966, a son of Santos, Sr. and Maria Guzman Benitez. On February 21, 1998 Santos and Virginia Garcia were united in marriage in St. Mary s Catholic Church of Brenham. Survivors include his wife: Virginia Benitez of Brenham; his parents, Santos and Maria Benitez of Brenham; three sons, Carlos Garcia, Javier Benitez, and Santos Giovanni Benitez, all of Brenham; eleven brothers and sisters and a number of other relatives. Santos will lie in state in Memorial Oaks Chapel beginning at 7 o clock in the morning on Thursday. A rosary will be recited at 6 o clock on Thursday evening, after which, he will be moved to his residence at 2780 F.M. 389 where he will lie in state until 9 o clock on Friday morning. Friends are welcome to visit with the family in their home on Thursday night. The funeral mass will be offered in St. Mary s Catholic Church in Brenham on Friday, August 13 at 2 o clock in the afternoon. Fr. David Ivey will be the principal celebrant. Burial will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham. Memorials may be given to the donor s favorite charity. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of Memorial Oaks Chapel, Inc.; 1306 W.
