Ronnie B. Lueckemeyer

April 13, 1953 — December 31, 2025

Brenham

Ronald Boyd Lueckemeyer was born on April 13, 1953, in Brenham, Texas, to Franklin and Ilene Lueckemeyer. He passed away after a 2-year struggle with numerous health issues. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Pat (Hugo) Lueckemeyer, their two daughters and sons-in-law, Jennifer Lueckemeyer and Aaron de la Garza, and Kim and Barrett Bartell, grandchildren Ada de la Garza, Henry de la Garza, and Laila Bartell, and brother and sister in-law, Larry and Cindy Lueckemeyer. He was preceded in death by his parents and his mother and father in-law, Eddie and Geneva Hugo.

Other survivors include his aunt, Willie Mae Lueckemeyer, sisters-in-law Shelia Hugo and Karen Hugo, and brother in-law Freddie (Rita) Hugo.

Ronnie grew up in Brenham, Texas, where he shared a close-knit childhood with his older brother, Larry, and four "sisters" who were actually backyard cousins living next door. From an early age, he was active and curious, filling his days with fishing at Gun and Rod Country Club, playing homerun baseball in the backyard, and participating in the Boy Scouts. He graduated from Brenham High School in 1971.

Ronnie married his first-grade sweetheart, Pat, after chasing her around the schoolyard, beginning a partnership that would span decades and shape his life in Washington County.

He devoted nearly 50 years of his career to serving the community as a Master Electrician. Known for his reliability and generosity, Ronnie often helped the elderly with electrical jobs, asking for nothing more than conversation and a Coke in return. One of his proudest professional accomplishments was his many years of work at Festival Hill in Round Top.

Ronnie had a love for travel and explored many parts of the western United States, including Washington, Alaska, Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico, and the Dakotas. Even while working full time, he made space for the hobbies that brought him joy like homebrewing, gardening, and traveling.

A meticulous and passionate amateur homebrewer, Ronnie was both surprised and delighted when he was awarded Best of Show for his Doppelbock beer at the Aggieland Brew Fest in 1997. A Longhorn competing among Aggies, he went on to win numerous homebrew awards across Central Texas. He also brewed the beer for his daughter's wedding rehearsal dinner.

Ronnie found peace and satisfaction in his garden, which grew larger every year. He spent countless hours tending plants, chasing off deer, and canning the harvest. He was always eager to share produce and canned goods with neighbors and family.

After retirement, Ronnie discovered a new creative outlet in woodworking. He crafted furniture for his patio, filled his home with handmade figurines, and made thoughtful gifts for others.

Ronnie was a faithful member of Abiding Word Lutheran Church and served on several committees there.

Ronnie's personality left a lasting impression. He loved to joke, tease, and kid around, often giving people a hard time while making them laugh. A true salt-of-the-earth man, he was humble, honest, and guided by deep integrity.

Ronnie Lueckemeyer will be remembered for his generosity, craftsmanship, dedication to his trade and community, and the warmth and humor he brought into the lives of those around him.
