Robert Eugene Werner

Robert Eugene Werner, 73, of Bay City, Texas, died on May 27, 2026.

Robert was born on May 27, 1953 in Carthage, South Dakota to Eugene and Lulu Werner. He completed High School and began his career in road and bridge construction and then pivoted to the oil and gas industry later. He married Linda Louise Eldridge on March 4, 1971 in Houston, Texas.

Robert enjoyed hunting and fishing in his spare time. Woodworking was another area of interest. He also enjoyed barbequing and spending time with his family and his dogs.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Linda Werner, brother, Ralph Werner and his parents: Lulu (Aaland) and Eugene Werner.

Robert is survived by his sons and their wives: Chris and Tracie Werner of Sargent, Texas; Russell and Maria Werner of Manvel, Texas; brother and sister-in-law, Robin and Mary Jane Werner of Atlanta, Georgia. He also survived by his 3 grandchildren: Mason, Zachary and Gracie Werner.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 5, 2026 at Strickland Funeral Home in Somerville, Texas with Pastor Corby Brizendine officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery in Somerville, Texas.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Ralph Werner, Jr., Robert Eldridge, Mason Werner, Vince Garcia, Robin Werner and Shane Duncan.
