Robert Purl

Bob passed away on July 3, 2021, at the age of 67.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 23, 2021 at Memorial Oaks Chapel prior to the memorial service.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 23, 2021 at Memorial Oaks Chapel.

Robert E. (Bob) Purl was born November 26, 1953 in Austin, Texas to Thomas Edgar Purl and Almeda Aleene Clark Purl, both of whom preceded him in death.

Bob graduated from Georgetown High School in 1972 and from the University of Texas at Austin in 1977. He spent his working years involved in education. Bob was a certified athletic trainer, but coaching was his passion. He coached in Klein, Elgin, Bellville, Alvin and Brenham.

He is survived by his brother Jack and wife Patricia of Hideaway, Tx, two nephews, Steve Purl and wife Stacy of Frisco, Tx (sons Will and Wade), Todd Purl and wife Molly of Forney, Tx (daughter Hannah and son Nate) and one niece Beth Purl of Hideaway, Tx.

The family set up a scholarship fund for an athletic trainer at Brenham ISD in Bob's name. Checks can be made out to Brenham ISD, c/o Kim Weatherby and Bob Purl should be on the memo line and all donations can be sent to P.O. Box 1147 Brenham, TX 77834.
