Robert Louis Preuss, Jr., 88, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 7th, in Brenham, TX. He was born here in Brenham on March 18, 1934 to Frieda Hermann and Robert Louis Preuss, Sr. He grew up on his family's farm on the outskirts of town, the oldest brother to sisters Carolyn Joan and Gloria Jean. He attended Williams Elementary School, better known as “Possum Trot”. Robert was baptized and confirmed by Pastor Streng at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, where he was a member his entire life. He graduated Brenham High School in 1953. Shortly after, he served his country by joining the army and was proud to be accepted into their nursing program. He was honorably discharged, and served in the National Guard for two years.

He met Jeanette (Eichler) of Round Top in 1956, and knew that she was the only one for him. They married three years later on August 1, 1959, and recently celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary. In those 63 years, Robert lived life to the fullest. He began his career at Woodson Lumber Company, but it wasn't long before Robert went into the construction business for himself. He was a builder, architect, master electrician, and ranched on his own land. He and Jeanette raised four boys: Jody, Jeffrey, Jared, and Jason. Robert was an avid baseball player and fan, and played fast-pitch softball well into his 50s. Perhaps most of all, Robert and Jeanette loved to go dancing, and when he could no longer dance, he still enjoyed going with Jeanette and listening to the music.

Robert is survived by his wife, Jeanette; his four sons, Jody (Anna), Jeffrey (Belinda), Jared (Jennifer), and Jason (Leigh); grandchildren Jessica Snowden (Michael), Jennifer Fuchs (Landry), and Justin Preuss, Eric (Cassie), Holdan, and Emily Preuss, Rohan, Audra, and Kora Preuss, William and Sophie Preuss, and great grandchildren, Graysen Snowden, Olivia and Dallas Fuchs, Collyns and Owen Preuss, Brecklyn Preuss, and sister Jean Toomes (Merle), three nephews, Chris, Matt and, Scott Toomes and their families, and Aunt Dorothy Preuss.  He was preceded in death by his youngest sister, Carolyn Joan:, his parents Robert and Frieda; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Alpha and Herbert Eichler.

Pallbearers will be Justin, Eric, Holdan, and Rohan Preuss; Graysen and Michael Snowden.
