Obituary

Robert K. Markos, 84 of Brenham died Wednesday, July 15, 2026.

Robert was born April 8, 1942 in Austin, Texas to Doris (Pierce) and Robert Jarrold Markos. He grew up in Bishop Texas and graduated from Bishop High School in 1961 before going on to attain a Bachelor's degree from Texas A&I in Kingsville. While working at Celanese in Bishop, he attended Corpus Christi State University in the evenings and obtained a Master's degree in Education. After a long career and retirement from Celanese he went on to work as a safety consultant throughout Texas and the United States.

Robert was a man of many talents and interests. He enjoyed woodworking, creating clay sculptures, and working with metal, always taking pride in crafting things with his hands. He had a green thumb when it came to gardening, growing lots of plants, flowers and vegetables to share with friends and family each year. He also really enjoyed fishing, even if he didn't catch anything. Robert was also famous for his stories, telling some of the best, especially with his morning coffee buddies. A faithful member of Grace Lutheran Church in Brenham, his faith was an important part of his life and the legacy he leaves behind.
