Robert Wayne Horn passed away on August 14, 2021 at Baylor Scott & White Hospital in College Station. He was born on July 4, 1958 in Pasadena, Texas, and was 63 years old.
He grew up in Plano, Texas during his school years. He was an all-around athlete, competing in football and baseball. He kicked a 90-yard punt during one game. When he was 10 years old, he won the local Pitch, Hit, and Throw competition and went on to the national finals in St. Louis, Mo. He finished in the top ten nationally.
He worked as a route salesman for Coca-Cola and for Frito Lay and as a ranch manager for an oil company CEO in Round Top, Texas, before retiring. His greatest accomplishments were raising his two daughters and loving his family.
Robert is survived by his wife of 45 years, Sabrina Pickard Horn, his daughter Hillary Austin of Columbus, Ohio, her husband Nicholas and their two children, Selah and Rowan; and his daughter Rebecca Gillman of Brenham, her husband Reid, and their daughter, Carsyn. He is also survived by his sister, Pamela Hendricks and nephew Justin Parker of Rosevine, Texas, as well as a host of relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held Saturday August 28, at 2:00 PM at the Dorcas Wills Baptist Church Family Life Center, 201 N. Robb St., Trinity, Texas.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital (stjude.org/donate) or the Diabetes Research Institute Foundation (diabetesresearch.org/give) in memory of Robert.
