Mr. Bormann was born in Wesley, TX on August 24, 1941 to Giles and Lenora Thielemann Bormann. He obtained an Associate Degree at Blinn Jr. College.

Mr. Bormann married his wife, Judy Joyce, on January 18, 1986 in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. He was baptized in 1941 and confirmed in 1955, both in Welcome Lutheran Church by Pastor Wolf.

Robert was an active and faithful member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church and served his country through the National Guard. He was a loving, joyful, generous, and thankful family man who never met a stranger. If he really liked you, you were bound to have a nickname. Robert was so hardworking always saying, “save for the rainy day”. He would proudly testify to his fifty-five years of service at Woodson Lumber Company, where he established so many wonderful relationships. The twenty-nine years of marriage to Judy were some of his most treasured memories. They were always eager to get on the dance floor, play cards with friends, travel when Judy could get him to go, and spending time with their family. The great outdoors was also a huge part of his life; whether it be fishing, hunting, baseball, gardening or helping his children with 4-H projects, he truly enjoyed every moment. We cannot leave out Brownie, Robert’s special furry friend. What a source of companionship and comfort that he provided through the years. Sunday morning was Robert’s favorite day of the week. He was committed to his relationship with Christ even amidst some of the most difficult moments in his life. Robert never missed an opportunity to share his faith or a handshake with others. His primary source of communicating was through human touch. Thanks to all of you who took the time to reach out and touch the hand of a man that will never be forgotten.

Mr. Bormann is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Scott Edward Bormann and his wife Maria of Brenham, TX, daughter and son-in-law, Dedra Kolkhorst and husband Kurt of Brenham, TX; son and daughter-in-law, Michael Wayne Barnett and his wife Sharon; daughter, Kendra Ann Garland; sister and brother-in-law, Verna Mae and her husband Marvin Struckmeyer of Navasota, TX; grandchildren, Collin and wife Tory Kolkhorst, Kyle and wife Bailee Kolkhorst, Kirbie Kolkhorst and fiancé Aaron Jantzi, Mariah and husband Colby Seeker; and other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and relatives.
