Peggy Bosse was born September 3, 1947 in Brenham to Almot Fritz Sommerfeld and Elsie Sommerfeld. She was baptized in the Lutheran faith on October 5, 1947. She was confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church of Prairie Hill on May 23, 1961.
She grew up on the family farm and loved playing dolls and playing with her cousins as a young girl.
She attended Brenham schools and graduated from Brenham High School in 1966. During her school years, she became close friends with classmates Ann Jeanette Pieper, Maude Linda Jakubik and Deany Borlin. The four classmates remained close the rest of their lives and still got together when they could. Peggy always looked forward to their visits.
Just after graduating high school, she married Milton Bosse, the son of a neighboring farming family.
They married on June 18, 1966 and were married for 57 years.
As a young couple they made their home in Somerville, Texas in 1967 where Milton became a teacher. She worked for the Texas A&M University System and then the U.S. Post Office in Somerville.
They were also very involved in the Somerville Volunteer Fire Department where Peggy was a part of the Ladies Auxiliary.
When their children, Sondra and Justin, were born, she became a stay-at-home mom. Once they were old enough to attend school, she began working in the cafeteria at Somerville ISD.
She also was a part of her children’s activities when they were in school including 4-H, raising animals for the Burleson County Fair and one of her favorite activities – being a band parent for the Somerville High School band. She continued to support the band even after her children graduated.
In 2002, Milton retired from teaching and they moved to Brenham. She worked at the Krause Elementary cafeteria and Blinn College’s cafeteria before she retired.
She enjoyed being with her grandchildren and attending their activities when she was able. She was also a lifelong fan of Elvis Presley, the Price is Right gameshow, bluebonnets and lighthouses.
In her later years, she enjoyed her cooking shows, watching football on tv and watching Westerns and tv shows from their youth with Milton.
She was a current member of the Brenham Area Retired School Personnel and St. John’s Lutheran Church at Prairie Hill.
She is preceded in death by her parents Fritz and Elsie Sommerfeld and many aunts and uncles.
Survivors include her husband, Milton; daughter, Sondra, and her husband, Gerardo, of Conroe; son, Justin and his wife, Hannah, of Brenham; four grandchildren including Henry and Annie Hernandez of Conroe and Taylor and Raelyn Bosse of Brenham.

The family also wishes to thank Felicia Deaver for her devoted care to both Milton and Peggy for the past year.
