Pauline Jaster, 88, of Brenham, died Aug. 30, 2019, at Brenham Nursing and Rehabilitation.

Funeral services for Pauline Jaster will be held Wednesday, Sept. 4 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Brenham with Pastor Pat Dietrich officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham. Visitation with the family will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3 at Memorial Oaks Chapel.

Mrs. Jaster was born June 25, 1931, in Burton, TX, to Fred H. and Lydia (Felder) Broesche. On Aug. 3, 1947, she was married to Erich Jaster.

Mrs. Jaster was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, VFW Auxiliary and American Legion Auxiliary. For many years she was a sales clerk at Perry Bros. She loved listening to and dancing to polka and waltz music. At Argent Court she enjoyed playing cards, dominoes and bingo. A special thanks goes to the staffs of Argent Court and Brenham Nursing and Rehabilitation and to Brandi Koehne.

Survivors include her daughters and son-in-law, Darleen Koehne and Joyce and Rockie Knittel, all of Brenham; son and daughter-in-law, Aubrey and Bev Jaster of Brenham; sisters-in-law, Jenell Jaster of Round Rock and Ruth Jaster of Houston; brother-in-law, Elwood Jaster and wife Carol of Brenham; grandchildren, Steven Koehne, Kendra Landry and husband Craig, Rockie B. Knittel, Kyree Koehne, Jarred Knittel and wife Amanda, Hilliary Poehlmann and husband Derek, Trey Knittel and wife Julia, and Laura Tompkins and husband Ryan; great-grandchildren, Katelyn Maynard and husband Brian, Aiden Tompkins, Caleb Landry, Carter Poehlmann, Brynn Koehne, Evan Schiller, Dylan Poehlmann, Wyatt Tompkins, Piper Knittel, Emersyn Koehne, Ella Poehlmann, Cohen Tompkins, Atticus Knittel, Zoe Knittel and Mia Knittel; and great-great-grandchildren, Madisyn Maynard, Bricen Maynard and Owen Maynard; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Erich Jaster; parents; mother-in-law and father-in-law; sisters, Delores Broesche and Elvera Littlejohn; brothers, Franklin Broesche and Floyd Broesche; son-in-law, Gilbert Koehne; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Joe Koska, Charlie Littlejohn, Anne Broesche, Launette Broesche, Melvin Jaster, Clarence Jaster, and Olevia and Erwin Gaskamp and nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Steven Koehne, Rockie B. Knittel, Jarred Knittel, Trey Knittel, Craig Landry, Derek Poehlmann, Ryan Tompkins and Brian Maynard.

Honorary pallbearers are Kendra Landry, Kyree Koehne, Hilliary Poehlmann, Laura Tompkins, Amanda Knittel, Julia Knittel, and all great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Brenham or a charity of your choice.
