Paula Heitman

November 11, 1954 — September 28, 2025

Paula June Heitman, 70, of New Caney, Texas, passed away peacefully on September 28, 2025. Born in DeRidder, Louisiana on November 11, 1954, Paula brought joy and energy into the world from the very beginning. As a teenager, she moved to Houston and grew up in Pasadena, TX, where she was crowned Miss Deepwater at Deepwater Junior High School-a title that reflected both her charm and outgoing nature.

Paula spent most of her life in the Houston area, where she built a fulfilling career with companies like DHL and Stewart & Stevenson. Known for her lively spirit and endless warmth, Paula never met a stranger. Her magnetic personality, quick smile, and infectious laugh made her a beloved friend and a cherished presence wherever she went.

She had a deep love for the outdoors and took pride in her plants and garden. A true cowgirl at heart, she loved music, dancing, and never missed a chance to get dressed to the nines-fashionable, bold, and always herself. She found joy in shopping, singing along to her favorite songs, and being surrounded by the people she loved. Above all, Paula was a caregiver-someone who always put her family first and whose heart was as big as Texas.

She is survived by her son, Johnny Heitman; her daughter, Melisa O'Neill and son-in-law Chris O'Neill; her granddaughter and pride and joy, Ivy O'Neill; her brother, Sherman Heitman and sister-in-law Debbie Heitman; her sister, Debbie Schauer; and numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends who became family.

Paula was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Helen Heitman; her brothers, Alfred, Albert, Henry, and Otto Heitman; and her sister, Delores Dorsey.

She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories. Her spirit lives on in every song she danced to, every flower she planted, and every heart she touched.

A celebration of Paula's life will be held on Sunday, October 26, 2025 from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at The Track Shack, 25811 W Hardy Rd. #6, Spring, TX 77373, where friends and family are welcome to gather, share stories, and honor her life.
