Patricia "Patty" Korthauer

October 24, 1947 — November 2, 2023

Patty Korthauer was a strong-willed force for good in the world. The oldest of 4 children, she set the pattern for a life that was built around family and encouragement. She was the kindest woman, sister, mother & grandmother, but was not to be crossed. She enjoyed a spirited life as a young adult and became a great homemaker and wife to husband Kenneth of 46 years and mother to Keith and Jason.

She tended to be friends for life with those who understood her and her endlessly giving nature. She became a world traveler late in life and loved to think of the origins of her family around the globe and her special place in the story of humanity. She helped raise two strong sons and four bright grandchildren and was able to talk with her youngest grandchild up to the last day. She created space for people to be themselves and fostered a sense of home. Her laugh and her advice will be truly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Louise Howard; brothers, Jack and Bill; and husband, Kenneth. She is survived by her sister, Karen Husmann; sons, Keith Korthauer, Jason Korthauer and daughter-in-law, Ashley; grandchildren, Korrigan, Keaton, Karis and Abaigael Korthauer.

Pallbearers will be: Korrigan Korthauer, Keaton Korthauer, Karis Korthauer, Glenwood Prenzler, Alton Kanak and David Woods.

Visitation is Monday, November 6th, starting at 7 am with the family present from 5-7 pm. The funeral is to be held at St Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church on Tuesday, November 7th at 2 pm with burial to follow at Prairie Lea Cemetery.
