Norma Jean Wallette passed away on August 22, 2022, at her home in Katy, Texas, making her way to Heaven for her eternal reward.
Norma was born on April 6, 1960, in Waukegan, Illinois. She was the second of four children of Bobby Joe Mears and Bobbie Grace (Watts) Mears, who preceded her in death. Growing up in Zion, Illinois among many cousins and extended family, Norma excelled in art while in school. She always looked upon her childhood fondly.
Norma graduated from Zion-Benton Township High School in 1978, moving to Texas shortly after with husband Terry Densmore. She settled in Houston in 1980, where she worked in telecommunications supply sales for nearly forty years. She worked tirelessly to provide for her sons, helped with all the late-night projects, and attended all the band performances, youth baseball and football games, and FFA competitions.
Her hobbies and interests included sewing, reading, gardening, American and Texas history, and attending Houston Astros baseball games with her sons. She devoted much of her time to researching her family history, which she was truly passionate about. She was a proud, loving, and doting grandmother, and she created many toys and clothes for her grandchildren in her final years.
Annual family reunions in Mississippi were something that Norma always looked forward to. Laughing and catching up with her very large family meant the world to her. She is certainly happy to be reunited with those that passed on before her.
She is survived by her sister Charlotte Mason of Fulton, Mississippi, her brothers Tim Mears (Syndee) of Round Lake, Illinois, and Scott Mears (Judy) of Zion, Illinois, sons Nathan Densmore (Robyn) of Georgetown, Texas, and Curtis Densmore (Alison) of Spring, Texas, grandchildren Logan Densmore, Keaton Densmore, and Maizie Densmore, and partner Bruce Elk.
