Minnie Stanley

Minnie Laura Smith Stanley, 76, of Brenham, died Dec. 24, 2007, at her residence. Mrs. Stanley was born Dec. 23, 1931, in Conway, South Carolina, to Hugh and Lottie Smith. She was married to George ''Windy'' Stanley in Conway, South Carolina. Survivors include her children and their spouses, Dianne and Peyton Bradley of Hondo, Leslie and Diane Armstrong of Brenham and Keith and Debra Armstrong of Snook; eight grandchildren, Deana Coursey, Jennifer Carstens, Johnny Byrd, Anneke Byrd, Leslie R. Armstrong, Lonnie A. Armstrong, Rebecca Rocha, Shane Trader and Cary Trader; six great-grandchildren, Jordan Coursey, Sydney Coursey, Logan Carstens, Brynlea Byrd, Ryan Trader and James Trader; two brothers, Gilbert Smith and Hamp Smith; and a sister, Leila Hucks. She was preceded in death by her husband, George ''Windy'' Stanley; her parents; three brothers and three sisters. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 29 at First Baptist Church, 9120 Poplar St., in Chappell Hill. Memorials may be given to Brenham Christian Academy.
