Melvin Meinecke

Melvin Lee Meinecke, 83, of Brenham died on August 11, 2018, the husband of Lucille “Zbranek” Meinecke. Funeral service will be Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Brenham with Pastor Jill Vivroux officiating, burial will follow at Prairie Lea Cemetery. Visitation with the family and friends will be Monday, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel.

Melvin was born on July 17, 1935 to Robert William and Ruth “Weid” Meinecke. Melvin was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s United Church of Christ in Burton. On September 16, 1956 He married his love, Lucille Zbranek at Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Greenvine. Melvin was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Brenham. He retired from the City of Friendswood as a Public Works Director. Melvin attended Burton Independent School District and also drove the school bus during his senior year. He served in the National Guard. Coached, managed and served on board of South Houston Little League.

Survivors include; his wife Lucille Meinecke, son and daughter-in-law; Mark and Tammy Meinecke, daughter and son-in-law; Mary and Leopoldo Andrade, brother Harold Meinecke, grandchildren Ryan, Brett and Lauren Meinecke, Alex and Danny Andrade, and several great- grandchildren.
