Melvin Henry

MELVIN E. HENRY, age 70, passed away April 24, 2009 at St. Luke''s Hospital, Houston, Texas. Melvin was born August 21, 1938 in Olathe, Kansas to Myron B. Henry and Mathilda Schwarz Henry, both of whom predeceased him. He retired to Brenham in 2002 from Houston where he had been a plumbing contractor. He was so happy these last few years to be in the country, tinkering with his tractor and farm implements and working on his art projects. He is survived by his wife, Carole; his sister Judith Bargeman; his daughter Susan of New Caney, Texas and 7 other children, stepchildren and many lovely grandchildren living on the East Coast and abroad. His wife, Carole, wishes to express her deepest appreciation to his daughter, Susan Crowe; cousins Dennis Yaksich and Bill Boerwinkle; and loving friends, Ken and Teresa Hogrefe; and many other friends and family for the support and comfort they gave to Mel and her during his final days The family is also extremely grateful for the outstanding care and comfort given to him by Dr. Andres Mesa and his staff over the past many years and during his last illness. We also sincerely appreciate the wonderful caregivers at St.Luke''s Hospital who tended to him and the family over the last three weeks. In keeping with Mel''s wishes, a small memorial gathering will be conducted at a later date.
