Martin Cogwin

February 28, 1957 — July 15, 2023

Brenham

Martin (Marty) Cogwin was born on February 28, 1957 in Galveston, TX (BOI).  He attended O’Connel High School, graduating in 1975.  Marty passed away peacefully on July 15, 2023 with his wife, Sue by his side.

Marty loved life and always found a way to liven up a gathering of friends or relatives…and he had so many close caring friends. For many years, Marty worked with his dear friend, John Young.  Marty was always considered a “jack of all trades” in the various areas where he worked. He loved brewing beer and was considered an outstanding brewmaster.  Most of all, he loved sharing the beer with his friends.  He was known to be a great story teller and loved to laugh.  His contagious smile just added to his charm.

Marty is survived by his wife: Sue, daughter: Lynn (Andy); step-daughter- Sarah (Angela) and step-son; Jake (Jessica).  He is also survived by his four grandchildren: Miles, Madison, Airrana & Vivian. Other family include his brother Mike, sisters Elizabeth and Margie as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Marty will be greatly missed by the many lives he touched.  Marty said he was “ready to go” and “not scared” as he had a lot of questions and a lot of solutions to share when he got there.

Visitation with the family will be 4pm-7pm Friday, August 11 at Memorial Oaks Chapel.

Those desiring may bring flowers or a plant as Marty loved his plants!
