Marshia Karen Foster, 79 passed away at her home in Brenham Friday October 13, 2023 with family by her side. She was born April 7, 1944 in Gainesville, TX to Charlie and Lavada Meyer. After graduating from Calisburg High School, Marshia moved to the Dallas area. There she met the love of her life and married Lewis “Bud” Foster.

Together, Bud and Marshia had four children: James, Heith, April and Julia. Along with numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Marshia was a member of the American Business Women’s Association and also the Society of Cosmetic Chemist. She worked many years as the international purchasing director for Worldwide Cosmetics Corp.

Once retired, Marshia and Bud moved to Brenham and purchased a historical home near downtown and after an extensive renovation named their new home “The Rachel” 1881.

As a resident of Brenham, Marshia continued to stay busy. She worked as a volunteer at Baylor Scott and White Clinic, also at the Unity Theater, as well as a crisis counselor at New Beginnings.

She was a member of many organizations which included Daughters of the American Revolution (DARs), The Pilot Club of Brenham, served as president of the Fort Nightly Book Club of Brenham as well as the regional president of The Red Hats Society of Texas. She was an accomplished artist winning many first place ribbons and other awards with her paintings at the Washington County Fair.

She will be missed dearly by her family and many friends.  

Visitation with the family will be 4pm-7pm Friday, October 20 at Memorial Oaks Chapel. The funeral service will be 2pm Saturday, October 21 at First United Methodist Church in Brenham. She will be laid to rest next to her soulmate, Lewis Foster at the Methodist Cemetery in Phillipsburg (721 Old Phillipsburg Ln).
