Marjorie Ann (Drews) Krinke passed away at Oak Haven Assisted Living in Industry, Texas on August 12, 2025 at the age of 85.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 15, 2025 at 10:00am at Zion Lutheran Church of Zionsville with Pastor Glenn Hohlt officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A visitation with the family will be held at the church in the Family Life Center following the service.
Marjorie (Margie) was born on November 24, 1939 in Brenham, Texas. She was the youngest of five children born to Willie and Mollie (Seilheimer) Drews. She was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church, where she remained a faithful member her entire life. Margie grew up on a farm in the Longpoint community of Washington County, attending Hoddeville School. After she completed the eighth grade she moved on to Brenham High School, graduating in 1958. Her first job was at Duke and Ayres in downtown Brenham, where she met her future husband.
On March 12, 1961, Margie married Weldon Roy Krinke at Zion Lutheran Church. Margie and Weldon were blessed with three children: Kathy, Linda and Gary. They were married for 62 years, until Weldon passed away in 2023.
Margie worked as a seamstress at Nat's Tiny Tots until its closing, and then at Sealy Mattress, where she worked for 22 years until her retirement in 2001. Never afraid of hard work, she then took a job she always wanted in the kitchen of Brenham Junior High School, where she continued to work until her health forced her to finally retire in 2003.
Margie is survived by her son Gary Krinke and his wife Sherry; her daughter Kathy Blum and her husband Craig; granddaughter Audrey Blum Masters and her husband Cole; and her sisters-in-law, Elvera Drews, Delores Kuehn and Gertrude Krinke. Nieces and nephews include Cynthia Kuehn, Lori Krchnak (husband Joey), Alan Kuehn, Beth Rothermel (husband Gary), Kristy Pieper (husband Neal), Debbie Lynn, Carol Gaskamp (husband Rickey), Ronnie Hohlt (wife Sheri) and Kim Cmajdalka (husband Paul) and numerous great-nieces and nephews.
Margie was preceded in death by her husband Weldon, her daughter Linda Krinke Scott and her granddaughter Lauren Blum Rupe; her sister and brother-in-law Dorothy and Wilfred Hohlt; her brothers and sisters-in-law Lee Roy and Joyce Drews, Willie Jr. and Alvira Drews and Milton Drews; and her brothers-in-law Edwin Kuehn and Glady Krinke.
Pallbearers will be Gary Krinke, Craig Blum, Cole Masters, Alan Kuehn, Joey Krchnak and Ronnie Hohlt.
