Marjorie Heckmann, age 87, passed away June 27, 2023. Marjorie was born March 23, 1936 to Adolph and Ella Berger Buerger in the Sandy Hill Community of Brenham, Washington Co., Texas. She was a life long member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church of Sandy Hill.

She was baptized on April 12, 1936, confirmed July 2, 1950 and on October 18, 1959 she married Fred Louis Heckmann. They had two daughters, Kathy and Debra.

She worked as a secretary for Blue Bell Creameries for the first few years of their marriage, but later decided she wanted to be a homemaker and take care of family.

She enjoyed having a garden, sewing and making quilts. She served on the Christian Service Committee and alter guild for many years at her church.

Marjorie is survived by her daughters, Kathy Ann Lehmann and husband, Mark of Brenham, Debra Sue Mueller and husband, Kim of Latium. Grandchildren, Krystal and Craig Glaeser, Bradley and Brooke Mueller and Amanda and Garrison Roberts. Great-grandchildren, Parker and Kollyns Mueller, Cullen Roberts, Cash and Clara Roberts and brother-in-law, Calvin Wehmeyer.

She was preceded in death by her husband, granddaughter, Kaylyn Lehmann, her parents, her husband’s parents and her three sisters and brothers-in-law, Hortense Randerman Rhodes (Amos Randerman, George Rhodes), Gerdine and Wilfred Blome and Dorothy Wehmeyer; Fred’s sister and brother-in-law, Bernice and Leroy Rosenbaum.

The family would like to thank the staff of Kruse Village and Hospice of Brazos Valley.

Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday June 29, 2023 at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Graveside Service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 30, 2023 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church of Sandy Hill Cemetery with Pastor Norm Sulaica officiating.

Pallbearers will be Craig Glaeser, Bradley Mueller, Garrison Roberts, Zeb Heckmann, Mark Lehmann and Kim Mueller.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be given honoring Marjorie to Hospice of Brazos Valley and St. Matthew Lutheran Church.
