Margaret Holley Hickson of Carmine, Texas went to her eternal home Saturday, July 9, 2022. She was born August 28, 1931 to Francis Marion Holley and Mary Kate Bullard­ Brown. She married Robert Earl Hickson on November 25, 1948. Margaret graduated from High School in Coahoma, Texas and received her Bachelor's Business of Arts from Texas Tech University in 1974. Her working career consisted of accounting and computer programming. She worked at differing companies including Dunn and Bradstreet; the Ackerly, Texas School District; Reef Oil Field Corporation; The State of Texas; General Telephone and Electric and performed private accounting. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Brenham, Texas. Margaret was also active in the communities in which she lived. She was a member of the American Association of University Women where she served on the task force for literacy, the Women's Missionary Union through her membership in the Methodist Church in San Angelo and Georgetown, Texas and was a Steven Minister. She taught Sunday School, was a Brownie Leader, and was known as the "Family Keeper".

Margaret had a deep relationship with God and she demonstrated her kindness and gentleness to everyone. She loved being in nature, traveling, reading, being with children, being at the beach, camping, and vacationing with her family. Whether traveling with her husband, Bob, or her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, she was always ready to participate in all the activities. She often would lead the way in activities such as parasailing in Mexico, snow skiing throughout the Rocky Mountains or snorkeling in Hawaii. She was fun to be with and she loved her family.

Margaret was survived by her son Donald Hickson and wife Cathy, daughter Cynthia Hickson Lacy, granddaughters Diana Lacy Terry and husband Charlie and Holley Hickson Sawchuk and husband Gene, her sister Mary Ruth Holley Cathey and husband Bobby and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bob, son-in-law Charles Lacy, great granddaughter Lacy Kaye Terry and great grandson Dillon Graham Terry. A special Thank You goes to her recent caregivers Monice Patterson and Monica Kimsey.

A private graveside service will be held in Big Spring, TX.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 West Main Street, Brenham, TX 77833.
