Lyra Mildred Williamson, 92, died June 21, 2019 in Georgetown, TX.

The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, June 28, 2019 at Memorial Oaks Chapel in Brenham. The memorial service will be conducted by Mrs. Williamson’s nephew, James Paul Worley. Burial will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Thursday June 27th at Memorial Oaks Chapel.

Lyra Mildred Williamson was born February 10, 1927 in Houston, Texas to Carlos and Sallie Clair Worley. She was baptized as an infant in the Catholic faith, and later confirmed in the same faith.

She attended Reagan High School in the Heights community of Houston, TX. She married Kenneth Williamson on Dec. 22, 1945. She was a dedicated mother and wife who was actively involved in local youth community activities. Prior to retirement she worked as a secretary part time and as a clerk in the Torrance County offices in Torrance, CA.

She and her husband Kenneth Williamson were members of the Elks Lodge of Brenham. She loved to accompany her husband on his extensive world business travels, and also treasured time spent with her granddaughters. Mrs. Williamson was also a breast cancer survivor.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Ken and Joan Williamson of Palmdale, California; daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Tommy Erlanson of South Padre Island, Texas; grandchildren: Caroline Williamson, Jacqueline Erlanson, and Rebecca Erlanson. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Mrs. Williamson was preceded in death by her parents; husband Kenneth Williamson, and 9 brothers and sisters.

Serving as pallbearers are Bo Williamson, C. Verne Hartman, Robert Townsend, Mickey Phillips, Mark Hartman, and Tommy Erlanson.

Honorary pallbearers are Caroline Williamson, Jacqueline Erlanson, and Rebecca Erlanson.

Memorial donations may be made to the Research to Prevent Blindness or to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
