Loretta was the fourth of eight children of Francis and Anna Lee. She graduated from Aquinas Dominican High School in Chicago in 1942. That same year, she met her future husband, Emmett B. (Ned) Sisson at the Trianon Ball Room, a noted venue on Chicago’s South Side. After Ned was wounded in action in World War II, He returned home. He and Loretta were married in Chicago on August 19, 1944. They lived in Riverdale, IL, and later Frankfort, IL, where they reared their children James (Jim) born in 1947, and Diana (Diane) born in 1962. Loretta was a dedicated homemaker and active in Catholic Church groups.  She and Ned enjoyed dancing, playing cards with friends, and family gatherings. After Ned retired in 1982, they moved to Kerrville, TX, for its mild Hill Country winters. They soon welcomed two grandchildren, Paul Sisson and Matthew Coates. Loretta moved to Brenham to be near her son Jim, after Ned passed away and was buried at Ft. Sam Houston with full military honors. She was an active member of St. Mary, Immaculate Conception, Church, a faithful member of the Eucharistic Adoration ministry, and enjoyed close friendships.

Loretta will be remembered for her pleasant demeanor and sense of humor. She was blessed late in life with a great grandson, Joseph Francis, whose lively and fun-loving nature made her smile. Two of a kind, these two!
