Lola Anne Wells Hutson, beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and cherished member of a large and loving family, passed away surrounded by the love of those whose lives she touched.

Born on November 20, 1945, in Port Arthur, Texas, Lola was the youngest of four children born to Jeffery James Wells and Lola Mae Wells.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jeffery James "PawPaw" Wells and Lola Mae "Nanny" Wells. She is survived by her siblings, Jeffery James "Jim" Wells Jr., Linda Carol Wells, and Jeffery David "Butch" Wells.

Lola is also survived by her daughters, Jennifer Anne Marrero and Lori Michelle Hutson, as well as her beloved grandsons, Denton James Marrero and Oliver Cy Marrero, who brought her immeasurable joy. She also leaves behind a large and loving extended family whose lives were enriched by her presence.

Lola's love for family was evident in everything she did. She treasured time spent with loved ones and created lasting memories through her kindness, warmth, and unwavering devotion. Her generous spirit, caring heart, and dedication to family will continue to inspire all who knew and loved her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and family unity that will be cherished for generations to come. Lola will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family, friends, and all whose lives were blessed by her presence.

A funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Sunday, June 28, 2026 at Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 West Main St., Brenham. A visitation with the family will begin at 11:00 a.m. Sunday until service time. Burial will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery.
