Lois Irene (Thomas) Jurries, 83, wife of the late Marvin Jurries, passed away at Silver Sage Memory Care Facility on July 25, 2025 with family by her side. A graveside service will be held at Greenvine Emmanuel Lutheran Church on Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at 10:00 AM with Vicar Sharon Schwartz officiating. A visitation with the family will be held immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall.
Lois was born on January 2, 1942 to Carl and Irene (Phillips) Thomas in Cuero, Texas. On October 7, 1961 she married Marvin Jurries in Burton Texas. She was his soul mate and best friend for over 60 years.
Lois’s love for children started early babysitting in her home prior to her career as an Early Childhood Educator in Brenham. After retirement her love for children continued. She then enjoyed spending even more time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her beautiful smile and witty sense of humor will be missed.
Lois is survived by her children Brian Jurries (Jennifer), Sherry Krinke (Gary), and Sheila Rolling (Greg). Brother-in-law and sister-in-law Royce Jurries (Mona) and sister-in-law and brother-in-law Sandra Hons (Richard). Grandchildren Tiffany Marsilio (Shawn), Adam Whitehead (Marisol), Trinten Rolling, Brayten Rolling, Darian Jurries, Drake Averitt and Madison Averitt. Great grandchildren Katryna Allen, Karina Whitehead, Jaiden Cuevas, Ariana Cuevas, Damien Marsilio, Dante Marsilio, Mileena Marsilio, and Kitanna Marsilio. Great great-granddaughter Sage due in August. Also, numerous nieces and nephews.
Lois is preceded in death by her husband Marvin Jurries. Her parents Carl and Irene Thomas, and mother-in-law and father-in-law Herbert and Thelma Jurries.
Serving as pallbearers are Adam Whitehead, Trinten Rolling, Brayten Rolling, Shawn Marsilio, Drake Averitt, Gary Krinke and Greg Rolling.
Memorials can be given to Greenvine Emmanuel Lutheran Church or a charity of your choice.
