Lloyd Pieper

Lloyd Wayne Pieper, 76, passed away unexpectantly Saturday December 17, 2022 while hunting at Whitson Ranch in Trinity Texas.  Lloyd was born on May 13, 1946 in Brenham, Texas to Bennie and Erna Dannhaus Pieper. He was baptized August 18, 1946 at St. James Lutheran Church in New Wehdem. He was confirmed April 10, 1960 at Salem Lutheran Church. He is a 1964 graduate of Brenham High School and a 1966 graduate of Blinn College. On February 12, 1966 he married Diane Moeller at the Industry Methodist Church.

Lloyd and Diane were owners of Moeller Electric Company and only recently sold the business to Mitchell and Aubrey Davis.  He was a Master Electrician who was a mentor to many electricians who currently practice in the Brenham area.  Lloyd was a Volunteer Fireman from 1973 until his retirement September 11, 2001.  He progressed through the ranks starting as a volunteer, then District Chief and finally 1st Assistant Chief (102). In 1977 he was named “Fireman of the Year.”

Lloyd was a life member of Salem Lutheran Church where he held numerous council positions. He was a supporter of the Brenham Booster Club, a former Little League umpire and a member of the Wonder Hill Shooting Club.

Lloyd is survived by his wife Diane Pieper, son Matt and his wife Amy and daughter Melanie and her husband Donny. Grandchildren Broc Bosse (special friend Audreshia Spates) and Broc’s father Ryan Bosse; Kate Roberts; Elizabeth Ramirez; Hunter Pieper (special friend Sarah Littleton); Hayden Pieper and Hunter and Hayden’s mother Kim Pieper; Cole Orosco and Sarah Beth Roberts and Stakely McConnell.  Great Grandchildren Mason, Jacob, Ramey, Quinn, Colt, Andrew and Liam. Brother Bobie and his wife Nina, brother and sister-in-law Weldon and Paulette Moeller and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents Bennie and Erna Pieper, father and mother-in-law Waldo and Jeanette Moeller, sister Betty Burran, niece Amanda Moeller, nephew Craig Higgins and great nephew Rusty Higgins.

A private burial will follow at the Salem Cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers will be Dale Borgstedte, David Bryan, Reinhardt ”Sonny” Dannhaus, Wayne Giese, Don Hoffman, Rayburn Klussmann, Charlie Lange and Larry Tegeler. Honorary pallbearers are Sheila Hicks, Irma Ray, John Desimio, Lani Lauter and the staff of Trade Winds Physical Therapy, members of the Brenham Fire Department, employees of Moeller Electric and past and present hunters of Dudley’s Hudnutts Hunting Club.

Memorials may be given in Lloyd’s memory to Salem Lutheran Church Building Fund or to the Margaret Blizzard Senior Activity Center.
